Mission Statement for the Ohio Department of Insurance License Division:

The License Divisions mission is to issue licenses to qualified applicants. The License Division maintains licenses for agents and business entities that are in good standing with Ohios laws. The License Division is committed to providing the highest level of service to the insurance industry and to the citizens of Ohio.

The Ohio Department of Insurances License Division is seeking a detailed oriented candidate to fill the Insurance Licensing Examiner position. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic have excellent time management skills and be able to multi-task several projects/issues at the same time.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Gathers information and documents

Review and analyze applications and supporting documents to determine license eligibility or continued eligibility

Review and analyze license status and transactions

Performs maintenance services on license records

Reviews researches and resolves customer issues and complaints

Make appropriate referrals to management and/or other divisions

Provides professional written and/or verbal response for requests ofinformation

Assist customers via telephone/email by providing accurate and professional responses

Performs related office and clerical duties

Assists in the overall operation of the division

Performs other duties as assigned.

Background Check Information:

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Section 2961 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) prohibits individuals convicted of a felony involving fraud deceit or theft from holding a position that has substantial management of control over property of a state agency.

Qualifications
36 months training or 36 months experience in insurance field (i.e. regulatory or industry) (e.g. agent licensing technician underwriter claims adjuster); two (2) courses or six (6) months experience in customer service; 12 months training or 12 months experience in operation of personal computer.


Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
