Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Position Details:

Graduate Nurse Sign On Bonus $2000

Experienced LPN up to Sign On Bonus $10000

PTO Frontload up to 40 hours for full time experienced LPNs

6D Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU:

6D is an intermediate ICU otherwise called a Progressive Care Unit. The unit includes a 16 bed fully monitored unit. We provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative traumas stroke patients and medical overflow. Common therapies seen on 6D are lumbar drain management external ventricular drain management antidysrhythmic/calcium channel blocking drips low dose vasopressors Bipap and high flow oxygen systems insulin drips and precedex. 6D works closely with Cardiovascular PCU and there are opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster which includes all ICUs and PCUs.

6D offers you the chance to deliver compassionate care in a setting that is busy team oriented and fulfilling. Learning opportunities are endless and team members are dedicated to mentoring. Career path programs are available to transition into ICU units with an 18-month track.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
  • Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
  • Preferred Certifications: IV Certification.
