As a Lead Accessibility Consultant on the Digital Accessibility team youll work alongside teams of developers designers and product owners that are responsible for creating world-class accessible experiences for Target Guests and Target Team Members. This includes the creation of entirely new experiences as well as improvements to existing ones. Youll be well-positioned to make an impact as a Lead Accessibility Consultant working on friendly and high-performing teams operating at the heart of Targets growing digital business. Youll drive our team strategies and help mentor and up-skill our own teams capabilities.
In this role you will be involved in the full product development cycle providing accessibility consultation during the ideation design development and testing phases providing final sign off prior to the experience being launched. Youll use your WCAG knowledge to guide your partners in the design and development of innovative and accessible digital experiences. Youll do this by experimenting and collaborating through product discovery and design sprints with both next-generation ideas and optimizations of current experiences in support of Targets business strategies.
Youll bring empathy and guest insights to every business problem. Youll participate in guest research and leverage data to inform design decisions. Youll help to define objectives and results with product design engineering and business partners. Youll push work forward with high standards and an approach that follows the voice of the guest. Youll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of leaders product designers content designers engineers product managers data analysts and researchers.

Expert skills in understanding WCAG 2.2 AA and working in an agile environment with developers and designers in applying requirements to create accessible experiences
Proven ability to successfully lead accessibility efforts throughout all phases of development within large-scale projects and initiatives involving multiple cross-functional teams
Experience developing procedures to guide consistent accessibility consulting across an organization
Experience performing accessibility testing of web and app experiences with assistive technology including keyboards and screen readers
Able to work well in a large organization with many partners with a demonstrated track record of building deep relationships and influencing peers and leaders
Comfort operating with flexibility in your approach in order to deliver results in a fast paced constantly changing and highly ambiguous work environment
Track record in using a strategic approach to solve complicated problems and strong collaboration skills in order to pull partners into your work process
Communicate digital accessibility needs and solutions with grace logic and data
Showcase examples of successful mentoring of peers which demonstrates your approach to teaching in order to elevate the work of consultants on your team
Have a passion for continuously improving digital experiences for people with disabilities
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ location the role is assigned to and virtually depending upon what your role team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
