The North East Africa Controller is accountable for end-to-end operational controllership across the Northeast Africa regionowning monthly financial close P&L and balance sheet integrity pacing/forecasting and risk & opportunity management. The role partners closely with Operations and Sales and prepares insight-rich reviews for regional leadership (CFO/GM). Core elements include P&L measurement variance analysis vs. estimates leadership review preparation and balance-sheet governance mechanisms.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the accounting and financial reporting functions for GE Medical Systems Egypt LLC covering the North East Africa (NEA) region.
- Lead the monthly quarterly and annual close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
- Develop implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial planning activities collaborating with business leaders to establish targets and monitor performance against plans.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis including variance analysis profitability assessments and cash flow projections to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage external audits tax filings and relationships with regulatory bodies ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales Operations Supply Chain Tax) to provide financial expertise and support.
- Drive process improvements and leverage financial systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Prepare financial documentation for internal & external audits and manage closure of open issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA CMA) highly preferred.
- Experience in finance or accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and local statutory accounting principles.
- Proven experience in managing financial operations for a multinational company preferably within the healthcare or medical devices industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems (e.g Oracle Hyperion) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
