Job Summary
JOB TITLE: Facility Associate/Custodian
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
TIME EXPECTATION: On-Call Part-Time
REPORTS TO: Facility Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
Awaken Las Vegas is a Bible teaching church actively engaged in regular outreach ministries special events worshipping our God equipping our Church and reaching Las Vegas. The role is a vital part of the daily operations of the Facility Department. The facilities associate will regularly maintain all aspects of the property and engage with students teachers and staff members.
KEY QUALITIES
The Facilities Associate must be able to adapt to and work effectively with a variety of situations. This position is responsible for the activities involved in preserving the Facilitys ministry areas including set up clean up lock up and repairs. This person must be patient self-starting team oriented outgoing conscientious organized and have a heart for people. This position requires the employee to work a flexible schedule comprised of day evening and/or weekend hours. Assists with any job duty that is requested with a joyful heart.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL
- Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures including sinksurinalsand toilets; wash windowsmirrorsand walls; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; replenish supplies in the restrooms.
- Sweeps vacuums mops waxesstripsand polishes floors;vacuumand shampoo carpets.
- Dusts and polishes furniture woodworkfixturesand equipment; clean desks and counter tops.
- Clean and sanitize waste receptacles; pick up papers and other debris.
- Moves and arranges furniture and equipment and sets up rooms for conferences and meetings.
- Replaceslights and adjustsshades and blinds.
- Regulates ventilation and temperature; clean air filtersandvents as required.
- Identifiesand reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
- Facilitates daily cleaning organizingand stocking duties in assigned storage closet.
- Reports weekly inventory and request ordering of supplies for storage closet.
- Oversees trains andmaintainsrelationships withany facility departmentvolunteers.
- Maintains relationships andassistsin meeting the needs of theChurch andSchool.
- Assistin all other areas as directed by church administration and/or Senior Pastor.
- Maintains strong working relationships with all ALV and ACA staff volunteers and vendors.
- Delivers packages and supplies as needed.
- Operateseffectively to meet establishedobjectivesand deadlines.
- Maintainsall platforms that are in use by the organization.
MINISTERIAL
- Must be a born again Christian and living a life thatdemonstratesa commitment to the word of God and committed to serving and supporting the vision and mission of Awaken Las Vegas.
- Attendsweekly department meetings.
- Exemplifies the love of Christ showing mutual respectdignityand integrity by always setting a positive example.
- Participates in Discipling and developing the community.
- Must regularly attend andparticipatein services at Awaken Las Vegas
- Be available to supplyPrayer andBiblicalGuidance when called upon.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years minimum experience in janitorial work preferred.
- Previous work in a Christian School or Nonprofit environment a plus.
- General computer knowledge required.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
TRAINING
- Understands and adheres to all Safety and OSHA requirements.
