Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Clerk to support the financial operations of our healthcare organization with a specific focus on billing collections and cash posting. This role is essential to ensuring accurate revenue recognition timely cash application and overall financial integrity within the revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of healthcare billing practices is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post daily cash receipts from third-party sources to the appropriate accounts
- Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts to reduce aged balances
- Monthly invoicing activities across several practices
- Assist with the monthly close process including revenue and cash reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP
- Support/cross trained on accounts payable to cover when needed
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies
- Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of accounting experience preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of healthcare billing and collections processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
- Familiarity with general accounting principles (GAAP) and revenue cycle functions
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and reconcile financial data
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
