Job Summary
Position Information
- Turn engineering expertise into community impact.ACivil Engineer Vperforms difficult professional engineering work in supervising and participating in the design construction maintenance and operation of civil engineering projects.
What You Will Do
General duties include but are not limited to:- Supervising preliminary and final surveys
- Designing structures such as reservoirs retaining walls bridges culverts tunnels pipelines sewers sidewalks highways etc
- Assigning subordinate engineers and inspectors to construction projects
- Settling disputes between contractors and inspectors
- Approving construction changes
There are multiple vacancies across various departments within the City and County of Honolulu:- Three vacancies with theHonolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) Capital Projects Division.
- Two (2) vacancies in the Design & Plan Review Branch
- One (1) vacancy in the Construction Management Pipeline Section
- Three vacancies with the Department of Design and Construction (DDC).
- Two (2) vacancies in the Civil Division
- One (1) vacancy in the Facilities Division
- Seven vacancies with theDepartment of Environmental Services (ENV).

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in an engineering specialty.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year ofregistered professional civil engineering experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
- Possession of an appropriate valid drivers license as required.
- Possession of avalid license as a professional Civil Engineer in the State of Hawaii.
