Key Responsibilities
- Respond to all patient calls with professionalism and courtesy ensuring accurate message taking and proper delivery to appropriate team members
- Document telephone contacts according to established protocols with special attention to symptomatic patient communications and clinical urgency
- Prepare comprehensively for patient visits by previewing medical records before appointments ensuring all relevant information is readily available and organized
- Monitor patient status during specialized cardiovascular procedures while gathering documenting and communicating essential clinical data to the care team
- Administer medications treatments and tests as directed by providers following all state regulations organizational policies and safety standards
- Serve as a dedicated patient advocate coordinating care and ensuring patient comfort safety and satisfaction throughout their clinical experience
- Provide patient education using established protocols to support treatment plans improve health outcomes and empower patients in their care
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among healthcare providers clinical staff patients and service partners
- Maintain strict adherence to organizational policies HIPAA requirements safety standards and patient confidentiality in all interactions
- Participate actively in professional development opportunities and quality management initiatives to enhance clinical excellence
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Exceptional organizational project management and time management abilities
- Outstanding customer service skills and interpersonal communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Clear verbal communication skills for patient and team interactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification (CMA/RMA)
- 2-4 years of related healthcare experience preferably in a clinical or cardiology setting
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish language skills a plus)
- Experience with cardiology or specialized cardiovascular procedures
- Previous experience in a fast-paced medical office environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Capacity to manage multiple telephone calls while multitasking effectively
- Detail-oriented data processing and documentation for extended durations
- Ability to lift light objects and retrieve patient files as needed
- Clear verbal communication skills for patient and team interactions
- Ability to stand and move throughout the clinical environment as required
