Purpose of the job
Being a Financial Accountant at Airport Dimensions is an excellent opportunity that will give you exposure to various aspects of the finance and the wider business. This role sits within the EMEA & APAC team. The successful candidate will have to be organised self-motivated with a desire to constantly improve.
You will be assisting in the preparation of management accounts that help prepare you with full understanding of accounting processes and a solid ground for future development in your finance career.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in monthly closing process including some month end journals for the main trading company in Airport Dimensions EMEA.
Monthly Intercompany reconciliations on balance sheet and P&L.
Preparing the monthly management accounts files.
Helping our central service team in South Africa with raising customer invoices recording and allocating receipts.
Helping our central service team in South Africa wis coding of supplier invoices managing supplier reconciliations.
Become an approver for supplier payments via the bank.
Performing analysis of Marketing expenses and working out various accruals and prepayments necessary.
Also raising relevant marketing recharges to the respective group companies.
Performing analysis of Technology expenses and working out various accruals and prepayments necessary.
Raising relevant Technology recharges to respective group companies.
Preparing quarterly VAT return submission.
Assisting with year-end reporting.
Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process.
Ad-hoc financial analysis financial modelling reporting and project assignments as required.
Knowledge skills and experience required
A recognised accountancy qualification (AAT or overseas equivalent) or a studier (e.g. ACA ACCA or CIMA) with experience in a similar role and have a solid understanding of bookkeeping and management accounting
Ideally a quantitative degree (Accounting Finance Economics Maths) achieving 2:1 or above
Knowledge/experience of multi-national groups with multi-currencies a plus
Strong financial accounting skills including working knowledge of FRS 102
Advanced Excel skills including sumifs vlookup and pivot table. VBA and Power Query desirable.
Proficient in PowerPoint and Word
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Project management experience
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience working on Access Dimensions or Microsoft Dynamics would be preferred
