Program Summary
KBR maintains and manages US Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek in support of the Armys power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II IIIP IV VII IX) to ensure that unit sets are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs IAW individual scope of work contract requirements.
Job Summary
The Supply Technician is the most senior hourly position within the Property Management section (Property Book). The section consists of 7 Supply Techs who provide daily guidance and leadership to the additional 15 hourly employees. All Supply Tech positions report directly to the section supervisor. The Supply Tech leads inventory procedures for Class VII and Class II MTOE equipment and materials. Transactions and research are conducted in GCSS-Army (US Armys ERP). The DTS system is also used for initiating and tracking re-distribution of equipment across other US Army units.
Supply Tech performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g. inventory management storage management cataloging and property utilization) related to depot local or other supply activities. Work is usually segregated by commodity area or function and controlled in terms of difficulty complexity or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. The Supply Technician expedites flow of material parts and assemblies within government tracking systems help meet production shipping schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue. Establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material; applying knowledge of repair and maintenance processes; compile report of quantity and type of material on hand using computerized system. Provides guidance and training to lower-level supply personnel e.g. Material Coordinators Warehouse Specialist Stock Clerk Shipping & Receiving Clerk and provides assistance to the Supervisor.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and train members of the Property Management team
Coordinate with shops to ensure equipment and materials are picked up or delivered and track accountability
Maintain paperwork and files; enter and research property transactions in software systems (GCSS-Army DST)
Conduct inventories to maintain 100% accountability of Major End Items (Class VII)
Update and create data/reports using Microsoft Office (Excel Power Point Word)
Conduct causative research
Uphold safety standards
Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma required Bachelors degree in related field preferred but not required.
Preferred experience as a DoD contractor GSA employee or uniformed military with the ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
Strong written and oral communication.
Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand - between 5 to 6 hours per day.
Must be able to walk - between 3 to 4 hours per day.
Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs. 50 lbs. periodically.
Must be able to squat kneel bend reach and climb periodically.
Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of Supply Support Activity (SSA) core processes Excess and Reparable Management and Plant 2000/2001 Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Familiarity with supply reports in Business Intelligence (BI) Launch Pad.
Proficiency in GCSS-Army process troubleshooting and understanding the functional flow of customer requirements and material procurement.
Knowledge of the GCSS-Army Training and Certification (GTRAC) system and associated personnel roles.
Skill in using Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
