Job Responsibilities
Plan develop coordinate implement and supervise the daily emergency maintenance/repair programs for a level ii institution.
Develop maintenance plans and procedures for buildings utilities grounds services installed equipment etc.
Determine requirements obtain required materials/equipment and assign work.
Establish on-call Procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
Develop/implement preventive maintenance program for the institution.
Determine items requiring periodic pm and develop check list for each item.
Schedule and follow up to ensure PMs are completed as required. Develop plan and cost estimate determine schedule and obtain materials supplies & equipment.
Select orient train and evaluate new employees/inmates.
Responsible for maintenance/testing of water distribution and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State ofSouth Carolina Minimum Requirements:
An associates degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer professional experience in the principles and technique of facilities maintenance to include plumbing general construction electrical kitchen equipment and operation of heavy equipment.
