Job Summary

Reports to Warehouse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  2. High school diploma or GED.
  3. Effective organization skills; demonstrated by the ability to prioritize and organize daily work schedules.
  4. Ability to speak read and understand the English language.
  5. Experience in the use of computer programs (Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Primeroedge or other inventory software.)
  6. Physically able to operate a 4000-pound fork truck and battery-operated pallet jack.
  7. Demonstrate good math skills; be able to work with inventory quickly and accurately.
  8. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment.
  9. Hold a valid Texas Drivers License (Class B - CDL) with an acceptable driving record as established by the district.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$30.71 NS-10

Salary(based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise warehousing and storage of all equipment supplies and materials.
  2. Conduct semi-annual and monthly item inventories. Assist the Warehouse manager in the investigation of discrepancies.
  3. Supervise evaluate and train employees assigned to the warehouse on District and Department policies and procedures including safety procedures.
  4. Report all damages and shipment complaints to the Warehouse Manager.
  5. Review employee timesheets and request proper payroll forms.
  6. Perform daily preventative maintenance checks for vehicles and warehouse equipment.
  7. Interview driver and warehouse applicants. Make recommendations for hire.
  8. Report vehicle accidents and incidents to the Warehouse Manager.
  9. Report needed repairs of trucks equipment or facilities to the Warehouse Manager.
  10. Work closely with other Warehouse Supervisors to provide coverage for all routes and deliveries by utilizing staff members as needed.
  11. Coordinate and dispatch drivers for hot shot deliveries.
  12. Report job-related accidents to the Warehouse Manager immediately and fill out proper documentation.
  13. Supervise and document the performance of employees assigned to the warehouse.
  14. Oversee receipt and shipment of items to/from the warehouse and ensure that all items are recorded properly in the inventory management system.
  15. Ensure that proper inventory management is utilized at the warehouse.
  16. Assist Procurement with information related to returns or damaged items.
  17. Maintain information on recalled products isolate them and monitor for return shrink or credit.
  18. Coordinate withdrawal and recording of donated or damaged items.
  19. Notify the Warehouse Manager of any warehouse items that are approaching the reorder point.
  20. Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and dock areas.
  21. Support the Nutrition Services Department with regular and reliable attendance.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager Assistant Director of Nutrition Services Logistics or Nutrition Services Director.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
All nutrition services employees must use good body mechanics and follow safe working procedures including infection control. The employee must report any unsafe condition to a manager or supervisor and demonstrate no on-the-job injuries due to a lack of good safety practices. On-the-job accidents must be reported immediately to the manager or supervisor and an accident report completed.

Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress. Work in non-airconditioned and sub-zero environments. Frequent lifting (up to 100 pounds) walking stooping standing and climbing ramps ladders stairs and scaffolds. Frequent operation of machinery.
