Registered Nurse (RN) Correctional Facility
Location: Bedford Hills NY 10507
Schedule: Day Shift 6:00 AM 2:00 PM 5 Days per Week
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Rate: $54 $58 per hour
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive medical and mental health care within a correctional facility setting. The RN will be responsible for conducting patient assessments administering medications coordinating care and ensuring the overall health and safety of the patient population.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive medical and mental health assessments including history taking and physical examinations
Perform suicide risk screenings and patient observations upon intake
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
Execute both independent and collaborative nursing interventions
Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic and adverse effects
Initiate and maintain IV lines; manage pain and ongoing treatment plans
Provide patient education to promote understanding of health conditions and treatment plans
Assist with referrals patient transfers and interdisciplinary care coordination
Accurately document assessments interventions and patient interactions in accordance with facility standards
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience (correctional psychiatric or acute care experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of medical and mental health assessment procedures
Proficiency in IV therapy medication administration and patient education
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a structured environment
Strong communication clinical judgment and documentation skills
Requirements & Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions considered per policy)
Influenza vaccination requirements may vary based on facility guidelines
