Assistant Swimming Coach

San Francisco University High School (UHS) is seeking an Assistant Swimming Coach to support a dynamic student-centered interscholastic program. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to develop student-athletes contribute to a positive team culture and support competitive success across all levels of the program

Position Overview
This position works closely with the Co-Head Coaches to foster a positive competitive and development-focused team culture aligned with UHS Athletics values. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in athlete instruction team supervision and program operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting daily practices including stroke instruction conditioning and skill development
• Support meet preparation and execution including warm-ups race strategy and post-race feedback
• Supervise student-athletes during practices meets and team travel
• Reinforce team standards related to sportsmanship accountability and respect
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes coaches and athletic department staff
• Assist with administrative duties as needed including attendance equipment management and meet logistics
• Model professionalism and uphold all University High School and CIF/NCS policies
• Support a safe inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes

Qualifications

• Previous swimming and/or coaching experience preferred
• Strong understanding of competitive swimming techniques and training principles
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to student-athlete development both in and out of the pool
• Availability for afternoon practices competitions and occasional weekend events
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season)

Compensation

This is a seasonal hourly-based position. Compensation is $27.50/HR
