San Francisco University High School (UHS) is seeking an Assistant Swimming Coach to support a dynamic student-centered interscholastic program. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to develop student-athletes contribute to a positive team culture and support competitive success across all levels of the program
Position Overview
This position works closely with the Co-Head Coaches to foster a positive competitive and development-focused team culture aligned with UHS Athletics values. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in athlete instruction team supervision and program operations.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting daily practices including stroke instruction conditioning and skill development
- Support meet preparation and execution including warm-ups race strategy and post-race feedback
- Supervise student-athletes during practices meets and team travel
- Reinforce team standards related to sportsmanship accountability and respect
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes coaches and athletic department staff
- Assist with administrative duties as needed including attendance equipment management and meet logistics
- Model professionalism and uphold all University High School and CIF/NCS policies
- Support a safe inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes
Qualifications
- Previous swimming and/or coaching experience preferred
- Strong understanding of competitive swimming techniques and training principles
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to student-athlete development both in and out of the pool
- Availability for afternoon practices competitions and occasional weekend events
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season)

Compensation
This is a seasonal hourly-based position. Compensation is $27.50/HR
