Position Overview The State of Arizonas Department of Economic Security (AZDES) Division of Technology Services (DTS) is seeking an experienced Procurement Analyst 2 to support IT procurement operations across the agency. This role is responsible for ensuring that IT-related products and services are acquired in the best interest of the State following all statewide procurement rules and financial principles.
This position plays a key role in evaluating IT vendors and contracts managing procurement processes for RFQs RFPs and RFIs and conducting research and assessments to support technology decision-making.
This is a hybrid role. The first 3 4 weeks are onsite for training followed by 4 days remote per week.
Key Responsibilities - Manage procurement activities for IT goods and services including:
- Software & SaaS
- Hardware (Desktop Data Center)
- Cloud infrastructure
- Telecommunications
- IT implementation advisory and managed services
- Emerging technologies
- Conduct vendor evaluations analyze proposals and research competitive solutions.
- Prepare and support Requests for Quotes (RFQs) Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Provide recommendations on supplier selection based on research cost analysis and contract value.
- Support business areas with procurement guidance negotiation assistance and evaluation of goods/services.
- Ensure compliance with statewide procurement regulations and financial principles.
- Work independently with general supervision on difficult (but not highly complex) procurement assignments.
- Present data and findings in reports as needed.
Required Skills & Experience - Demonstrated procurement experience (must appear clearly on r sum ).
- IT Asset Management experience.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing models and compliance.
Preferred Skills - Ability to present reports and data effectively.
- Experience with Google Workspace.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Experience handling invoice review and processing.
