Job Summary

We are hiring a Street Sweeping Crew Lead in El Paso TX. The Street Sweeping Crew Lead supervises and coordinates the daily activities of street sweeping personnel to ensure safe efficient and high-quality cleaning of public roadways parking lots and municipal properties. This position leads by example operates sweeping equipment as needed and ensures compliance with safety environmental and municipal standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct street sweeping crew members during daily operations
Assign routes and monitor completion of scheduled sweeping activities
Operate street sweeping vehicles and related equipment when necessary
Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections
Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations
Train new employees on equipment operation safety procedures and performance standards
Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs
Maintain accurate daily logs reports and route documentation
Communicate with supervisors regarding scheduling weather impacts and operational issues
Address public concerns or complaints professionally
Ensure work areas are safe and free of debris hazards

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
2 years experience in street sweeping public works landscaping construction or related field
Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
Valid drivers license (CDL preferred depending on vehicle requirements)
Knowledge of street sweeping equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting
Ability to read route maps and follow written instructions
Strong communication and leadership skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Prolonged periods of standing walking bending and operating heavy equipment

Work Environment

Outdoor work environment
Exposure to dust noise traffic and moving machinery
Early morning evening or weekend shifts may be required
