Our Nurses offer specialist clinical interventions including comprehensive health screens alcohol assessments vaccinations ECGs wound care and community alcohol detoxes to a cohort of service users across East Sussex.
We are looking for passionate people and friendly faces; youll work with highly skilled colleagues across the county to support and engage people in drug and alcohol treatment services. No two days will be the same and were looking for Nurses who have a range of skills and expertise but who also believe in being open compassionate and bold in everything they do.
CGL East Sussex Drug & Alcohol Service is a fully integrated service responsible for delivering a range of interventions. We are seeking to employ a highly motivated enthusiastic and committed nurse to join the clinical team at Lift House. We have primary hubs in Hastings and Eastbourne as well as other satellites across the county. You will have excellent communication skills be committed to high quality service provision and the active involvement of our service users. You will have some training and/or qualifications of relevance when it comes to addressing substance misuse issues but we can also support with development in this area.

Full Time Salary: 37184.90 - 43384.61*

*Please note:Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Undertake physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services whenindicatedby clinical need and ensureappropriate signposting/referral to primary care orappropriate secondaryhealth care services foridentifiedhealthissues.
- Provide education healthpromotionand screening for blood borne viruses (BBV). Provide Hepatitis B vaccinations whenindicated.
- Contribute to CGLs Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in the use of Naloxone. Ensuring Naloxone is distributed to service users at everyopportunity.
- Develop therapeutic alliances with people who have substance misuse problems and develop effective partnerships withthem.
- Ensure that procedures are constantly reviewed to promote best practice andevidencedbased practicein accordance withUK Guidelines on Clinical Management NICE guidance and CGL clinical protocols andprocedures.
- Provideharm reduction advice to injecting service users providing information and equipment and ensure all equipment is disposed ofsafely.
- Record and input client data and information in order that the serviceoperateswithin contractual administrative and financialrequirements.
About you:
- First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experienceand a current PIN
- Relevant recent experience of working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential)
- Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
- Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate written
reports asnecessary.
- Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service andidentifyareas fordevelopment.
- Employ a professional empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards
service users and allstakeholders.
- An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users peers and other relevant professionals
