Position Summary
UNISUS School is seeking a Senior Math / Physics Teacher to teach upper-year secondary students beginning in August 2025. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in senior-level Mathematics and Physics supporting students in developing strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
While experience with the IB Diploma Programme is an asset it is not required . Educators with experience teaching senior Math and/or Physics in other recognized curricula are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction in senior-level Mathematics and Physics
- Foster conceptual understanding inquiry and real-world application of mathematical and scientific principles
- Assess and evaluate student learning using formative and summative assessment methods
- Support students preparation for internal and external assessments where applicable
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and student success
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity respect and academic excellence
- Participate in professional development curriculum review and school events
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Mathematics Physics Education or a related field
- Teaching certification recognized in an English-speaking country
- Must hold or be eligible for a BC Certificate of Qualification or an Independent School Subject-Restricted Teaching Certificate (Math & Physics eligibility)
- Experience teaching senior secondary Math and/or Physics
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme courses is an asset but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate technology to enhance learning
- Experience in an independent international or multicultural school setting is considered an asset
Hours of Work - Full-time teaching position aligned with the academic calendar including Winter Spring & Summer Breaks
- Additional hours required for parent meetings professional development and co-curricular activities and school events
