Electrical Engineering Intern

Opportunity:

Beckwood is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team and gain hands-on experience supporting the design development and commissioning of advanced manufacturing this role you will work alongside experienced engineers to assist with electrical schematics data analysis component research and project documentation while contributing to real-world engineering projects.

This internship provides valuable exposure to industrial automation control systems and the engineering processes used to bring complex machinery from concept to production. The ideal candidate is curious detail-oriented and eager to learn in a fast-paced collaborative environment while developing practical engineering skills that complement their academic studies.

What Youll Be Doing:

Create and modify 2D electrical drawings and schematics using CAD software
Generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) for engineering projects
Collect organize and analyze project data to support engineering and operational decisions
Create reports charts and visualizations using Microsoft Excel
Work with large data sets and organize information into clear presentable formats
Assist Controls Engineers during machinery start-up and commissioning activities
Take and interpret measurements using tools such as multimeters pressure gauges and load cells
Support project documentation efforts including completing checklists user manuals and other technical documentation
Assist engineers with researching and selecting components for integration into system designs
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes product specifications and technical information
Review and interpret vendor quotes and customer specification documents to support design and project planning
Participate in customer conference calls to better understand project requirements and how they impact engineering design
Attend project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks and project progress



Qualifications

What Were Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited college or university
Completion of at least two years of coursework toward an engineering degree (Junior or Senior standing preferred)
Must be in good academic standing.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a professional office environment but includes occasional time in the manufacturing facility to support projects and collaborate with production teams. While in the plant employees may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions such as machinery operation and moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

This role primarily operates in a professional office environment requiring the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while occasionally moving about to access office equipment and files. Additionally the position occasionally requires moving throughout the manufacturing floor to position oneself for equipment inspection or maintenance. This includes ascending/descending and working atop ladders or elevated platforms as well as accessing machinery at varying heights including ground level.
