QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 8 years experience in trade.
- Hold a valid Texas drivers license with an acceptable driving record as established by the district.
- Be able to work at variable heights.
- Extensive knowledge of codes ordinances and all types of appliances and steam boiler equipment.
- Write comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction and modifications to all types of appliance equipment.
- Ability to speak read and understand English.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
1. Working knowledge of refrigeration (ice machines reach-ins walk-ins) cooking equipment (ovens steamers steam wells warmers) and dish machines.
2. Knowledge of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) recovery.
3. Knowledge of current codes and ordinances involving refrigeration systems.
4. Basic electrical knowledge (working with 110-to-480-volt 3 phase).
5. Basic plumbing knowledge.
6. Ability to read blueprints schematics and written reference material.
7. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
8. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
9. Basic computer skills: Email word excel.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$37.18 NS-12
Salary(based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform all duties of an Appliance lead Appliance Tech I II III and IV.
2. Direct and supervise all phases of building appliance and steam boiler repairs and modifications.
3. Approve parts and material orders for department.
4. Make recommendations concerning hiring advancement discipline and discharge of employees.
5. Conduct follow up inspections of completed work.
6. Coordinate repairs and/or renovations by outside contractors.
7. Take necessary action to immediately report and correct any condition that may cause injury or illness to students or staff.
8. Monitor departmental purchases.
9. Review specifications and prints for new construction and remodels.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds; be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks; be available for after hour demands subject to 24-hour responsibility; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work alone; and ability to keep information confidential.
