The Burlington School District Board of Education in Burlington Colorado is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1 2026.
McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the board in identifying and screening the candidates.

Location:Colorados East Central Plains approximately 170 miles east of the Denver-Metro area along Interstate 70 near the Colorado/Kansas border.
The Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be a values-driven community-engaged leader that has the background skills experience and abilities essential for leading a small rural school district. The Board of Education has identified the following core leadership qualities and priorities as essential for success:

- Sets a clear direction remains steady under criticism and confidently makes final decisions when needed.

- Proven high integrity moral and ethical behavior that aligns with local community values.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic pride and models a strong example for staff and students.

- Engages comfortably with all ages listens well and builds relationships easily.
- Keeps board members staff and the community informed through consistent transparent communication across multiple platforms.
- Actively engages in local groups and with businesses to strengthen school-community ties.

- Is fiscally responsible uses funds wisely and manages tight budgets effectively.
- Proven skills in resource management and personnel decisions.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Thinks outside the box and seeks better ways to improve district performance.
- Centers decision-making on improving teaching and learning.
- Is effective at mentoring and developing building-level leaders.
Additional Requirements:
Previous superintendent experience preferred.
Selected candidate must possess or qualify for appropriate Colorado licensure
Salary Range: $110000 - $150000 plus housing allowance and insurance benefits
