Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Function as producer and on-site evaluator of student sessions completing necessary documentation and forwarding to faculty when applicable plus offering assistance/support to students where appropriate; provide technical assistance at any Department/Division recording sessions.
Assist engineering staff by preparing materials prior to sessions (assigning outputs checking naming conventions testing sequenced material) and communicating with students as necessary if problems are found. As well as assist with the physical setup of the studio in larger sessions.
On a day-to-day basis receive and check submissions of student materials (both documentation and A/V items) logging as received in Google Drive and communicating with students if necessary.
Coordinate with the Division Program Manager schedule and oversee Scoring Session Program players booked for specific recording sessions including: booking players for each session; monitoring player conduct punctuality and performance issues; participating in procuring of substitute players if needed.
Communicate with Screen Scoring faculty regarding curricular goals for each course requiring access to studio facilities including training/course auditing as required and monitor/update project guidelines each semester.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Bachelors degree in Music or equivalent.
Knowledge of media scoring workflow.
Experience with MIDI Sequencing and Audio Editing (DAW) Pro .Tools video applications Mac OS and other software applicable to modern music production
Familiarity with the principles of digital audio including digital media management archiving and retrieval
Familiarity with audio signal flow basic studio techniques and procedures.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Organizational and time management skills are essential.
Hiring Range:
