Pediatric Optometrist

Pediatric residency training is not required — candidates with a strong interest in pediatric care are encouraged to apply.
Position Overview
The Optometrist will play an essential role in evaluating pediatric patients supporting ophthalmology providers and helping deliver exceptional patient-centered eye care. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive pediatric setting alongside experienced ophthalmologists and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision evaluations for pediatric patients
Diagnose and manage common pediatric ocular conditions
Provide refractive care contact lens fittings and follow-up evaluations
Assist with pre- and post-operative patient management as needed
Collaborate with pediatric ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary providers
Educate patients and families on eye health treatment plans and vision care
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Connecticut
Pediatric residency not required; interest or experience in pediatric eye care preferred
Strong clinical skills and a patient-focused approach
