Position Overview
The Head of Ophthalmology will provide clinical administrative and educational leadership for a growing pediatric ophthalmology department. The role includes oversight of day-to-day operations development of strategic initiatives and mentorship of a multidisciplinary team including physicians fellows residents medical students and advanced practice providers.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Ophthalmology Department
Oversee daily clinical operations staffing and workflow optimization
Lead and mentor physicians fellows residents medical students and APPs
Balance clinical care with administrative and academic responsibilities
Support educational programming teaching and professional development
Drive quality improvement patient safety initiatives and program growth
Collaborate with executive leadership on departmental planning and expansion
Qualifications
Board Certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist (required)
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to pediatric patient care education and innovation
Strong organizational communication and strategic planning skills
