The program will be highly collaborative and immersive with interns working on real business problems that can span multiple business units within the complex insurance landscape: Product Actuarial Analytics R&D Underwriting Finance Sales Marketing Operations Distribution IT.

As an intern youll not only develop the crucial and valuable skillset for your future but also add the experience from Farmers which deals with complex systems and environments. Additionally working with business agile and leadership team will empower you to evolve and expand your knowledge and experience required to drive and meet the business goals and objective.

What Youll Do as a Farmers Intern

This is a full time 40 hour a week paid 10-12 week Summer internship.

You will develop crucial and highly valuable data analytics skills as well as soft skills through the course of your internship. This is an opportunity to work alongside accomplished professionals and gain valuable skills for your future. Additionally you will learn how we use innovation and technology to drive our business forward and through project work job shadowing hands on work experience and exposure to Farmers leadership teams to expand your knowledge and experience.

• Broaden knowledge and application of modeling techniques and procedures.
• Support preparation of internal/external structured/unstructured data sets to build/rebuild/refresh predictive models.
• Under direction use appropriate modeling techniques to address business needs.
• Effectively communicate analyses.

What Youll Bring as a Farmers Intern

• Ability to manipulate and analyze data to address and solve business problems.
• Preferred Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred exposure to Python and SAS.
• Preferred intermediate to advance SQL.
• A passion for learning and development.
• Willingness to independently learn and make an impact within a team environment.
• Self-motivated an excellent problem solver and a quick learner.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education Youll Need

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors (BS/BA) or Masters (MS/MA) degree in Mathematics Statistics Data Analytics or Computer Science.
• You must be a student enrolled in anaccredited college during the duration of the internship.
• Specifically a rising Junior or Senior level undergraduate student or graduate student.
