Job Summary

Amazons Project Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
To support this launch the EMEA Accounting team in Cork is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for month end close activities including reviews balance sheet reconciliations and analytics
- Business partnering with other Amazon teams including Finance Treasury Tax Public Relations Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal
- Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization
- Preparation of high quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks;
- Preparation of statutory trial balances including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments;
- Supporting external audit process;
- Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business related transactions;
- Being a strong team player who can operate globally cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.

About the team
Amazon Affinity Groups
- Experience with accounting and financial reporting preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
- Certified accountant qualification (ACA CPA ACCA or equivalent)
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks;
- Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules
