IMEG Corp. is growing and wed love to have you join our team! IMEG is an employee-owned engineering firm and we are seeking a Wastewater Engineer with strong experience in wastewater treatment plant design with a particular emphasis on Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) technology. This role is ideally suited for a mid-to-senior level engineer who has been directly involved in SBR process and facility design and is ready to take on increased technical responsibility mentorship and project influence. Highly capable mid-level candidates with meaningful SBR experience are also encouraged to apply. We are currently seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer - SBR Treatment Plant Design role in our Woodbury NY office

Scope

The Senior Civil Engineer 3 will lead projects as a lead engineer for moderate to complex projects and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities include leading a team of Civil Engineers for engineering analysis design and implementation oversight of Civil infrastructure and/or site plans. Additional responsibilities include working within the projects monetary budget leading training and mentoring efforts and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership in the design of wastewater treatment facilities with a focus on SBR systems
  • Process evaluation system sizing layout and performance optimization
  • Coordination with multidisciplinary teams across planning design and permitting
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff as appropriate
  • Supporting practical constructible and resilient infrastructure solutions for clients
  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of municipal infrastructure
  • Responsible for Civil Site design with project team and providing the team with advanced technical oversight
  • Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
  • Provide in-process design reviews of civil infrastructure design calculations specifications and project correspondence; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs meet IMEG quality standards industry standards and client requirements
  • Provide technical training and mentoring; Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staff
  • Stay up to date with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in civil engineering; Lead research development and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work; Interpret state and local design criteria and apply to specific project needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including other engineers architects and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Lead project interviews and project presentations

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in wastewater treatment plant design
  • Hands-on SBR design experience required
  • PE licensure preferred (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
  • Strong technical judgment and collaborative approach to project delivery
  • Advanced proficiency in design techniques tools and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills for civil infrastructure
  • Strong training mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control checks in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight stays

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 14 years of experience minimum required 16 preferred in the building design consulting industry
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit walk stand talk see hear and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive kneel stoop crouch crawl reach with hands or arms and grasp or pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

Salary Range $142000 - $184000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant.
