Position Overview
Ivy Academy seeks a passionate and student-centered Algebra II Teacher to join our team for the 202627 school year. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong mathematical reasoning problem-solving skills and confidence in students while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment aligned with the schools mission and instructional philosophy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Algebra II instruction aligned with Tennessee state standards and school curriculum goals
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and learning styles
- Use data and formative assessments to guide instruction and improve student outcomes
- Maintain a structured positive and student-centered classroom environment
- Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and interdisciplinary learning
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain accurate records for grades attendance and student progress
- Support school culture through participation in meetings events and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics Education or related field required
- Valid Tennessee teaching license (or ability to obtain licensure) preferred
- Demonstrated content knowledge in Algebra II and related high school math courses
- Experience teaching high school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to use instructional technology and data to enhance learning
