Summary of Job Duties:
This position requires varying shifts and rotating 24/7 on-call shifts.
The ED Access Supervisor assumes management responsibility during the absence of the manager including educating staff on payer requirements and government rules and regulations required for compliance and customer service. The Access Supervisor also performs regular audits to ensure productivity quality and compliance and provides reports of findings and works with the administrative team to develop corrective action plans.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business or related field PLUS three (3) years of registration and/or billing experience
OR
- High School Diploma/GED PLUS seven (7) years of registration and/or billing experience including three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience
- CHAA Certification
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
- Staffs personnel to meet departmental needs and prioritizes workload daily and adjust staffing model as needed to ensure adequate coverage including covering during this time or finding coverage.
- Monthly/rotating on-call
- Monitors staff performance through various methodologies including daily/monthly quality/productivity audits.
- Takes appropriate action to ensure staff consistently meets performance standards which includes training for errors that create billing delays and concerns.
- Acts as a role model and ensures staff maintains exceptional working relationships with internal and external customers
- Monitors satisfaction benchmark tools and develops action plans accordingly
- Ensures information is provided to staff timely and concise in order to maintain the accuracy of department activities
- Documents personnel issues and promotes a balanced and conducive work environment
- Participates in the orientation and/or training of new staff
- Demonstrates knowledge of individual responsibility and ensures staff preparedness following established Joint Commission standards and facility safety and emergency preparedness standards
- May perform other duties as assigned
