Work Hours: Full Time/Evening Shift Monday-Friday 5:30pm-2am weekend rotations with 2nd shift hours 2pm-10:30pm.

Work Location: Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital St. Petersburg FL- Core Lab

Position Summary:

  • The laboratory lead medical technologist performs analytical procedures independently and has an advanced understanding of laboratory operations.
  • Accountable for day-to-day assistance in planning participating and overseeing all operations of assigned section(s).
  • Is cross-trained in all functions of the section and provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement.
  • Possesses high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.
  • Ensures the reporting of quality results completion of projects and a safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science

Experience:

  • 5 years of related clinical laboratory experience
  • Proven ability to perform and evaluate laboratory procedures guide QC improve section performance and lead staff in daily operations in the assigned areas
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret direction both oral and written organize and prioritize work and follow through on assignments
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computers automated instruments and mechanical apparatus

Certification/Licensing:

  • Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida required
  • Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 33.70/hour - Maximum 53.93/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
