Appalachian Community Services is seeking a Qualified Professional Mobile Crisis Assessorto join our 24/7 Mobile Crisis Management (MCM) Team serving Western North Carolina. This role is for assessors who thrive in fast-paced environments think critically under pressure and believe meaningful change happens in the moment.
You wont be behind a desk - youll be in the community stabilizing crises supporting high-risk individuals and helping people find a path forward when they need it most.
Full-Time (12-hour shifts):

Mobile Crisis services operate 24/7 including nights weekends and holidays.
Respond to behavioral health crises in homes community settings hospitals and public locations
Complete comprehensive crisis assessments including suicide and homicide risk evaluations
Provide immediate crisis intervention stabilization and de-escalation
Serve individuals of all ages and disabilities
Support individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders
Manage high-risk complex cases with elevated clinical and safety needs
Collaborate with EMS law enforcement hospitals and community partners
Develop safety plans and determine appropriate dispositions and referrals
Complete clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid state and ACS standards
This position delivers Mobile Crisis Management services that are direct time-limited and available 24/7.
