The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Project Control is looking for anAccountant 3to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What You Will Be Doing: .

  • Under general direction from the Project Control Chief this position serves as the Accounting Lead for the Project Control Section for Northern Region guiding a small team that keeps Alaskas major transportation projects funded on schedule and on track.
  • Oversee the financial management of hundreds of capital projectshighways airports facilities research and moreensuring every project meets state and federal requirements.
  • Serve as the regions primary expert on project funding acting as a liaison between federal partners internal DOT&PF teams and external clients.
  • Use your analytical and leadership skills to solve complex funding challenges prepare financial plans and support long-term transportation investment across Alaska.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is based in Fairbanks.
TheDOT&PF complex is on Peger Road where design construction maintenance and support teams work closely together. Youll enjoy a quiet focused workspace within a close-knit group of professionals. While much of the work is performed independently collaboration is key each team member plays an important role in accurately completing capital project transactions and supporting the departments mission. Telework opportunities may be available upon completion of training.


Who We Are Looking For:

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Federal Funds Processing: Knowledge of methods and procedures for processing direct and reimbursable program funds (for example automatic and funded reimbursements interagency agreements transfer appropriations) grants loans and other credit programs.
  • Financial Systems: Knowledge of the standards architecture and specifications of automated financial systems including source documents system flows system interfaces and related internal controls.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible professional level experience in accounting budgeting or financial management.

Other Information
