Electrical Engineer (Construction)

We are a leading single-source electrical construction and telecommunications services supplier for the New York metropolitan area. Our expertise includes tenant fit-out power infrastructure data center infrastructure network design structured cabling and electrical system design-build installation and maintenance.

Forest Electric NY is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for developing and managing detailed 3D models of electrical systems for commercial projects using Revit and AutoCAD.

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and manage detailed 3D models of electrical systems for commercial projects using Revit and AutoCAD
• Coordinate with other trades (e.g. mechanical plumbing structural) to ensure proper integration of electrical systems using Navisworks for 3D coordination and clash detection
• Attend on-site and virtual coordination meetings with General Contractor and other trades
• Create detailed installation drawings for all electrical system components including equipment conduit and supports
• Collaborate and communicate with team members to ensure project goals are met
• Verify that drawings and installations comply with applicable codes and specifications
• Perform electrical load calculations ampacity adjustments and voltage drop analysis to ensure reliability and compliance with codes
• Conduct project site visits to gather necessary data for accurate drafting and documentation
• Regular predictable and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of the job

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume contractor design and drafting environment or a Bachelors in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
• Proficient with Revit AutoCAD Navisworks Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting
• Ability to interpret and translate construction drawings
• Proven ability to design and draft basic electrical systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Compensation Range: $100000 - $150000

Local Union #3 benefits

Other Compensation: Position is bonus eligible.
