Manufacturing Master Scheduler & Strategic Buyer

Own the Production Rhythm and the Material Stream

As our Manufacturing Master Scheduler & Strategic Buyer you will orchestrate the Master Production Schedule (MPS) while leading purchasing for raw materials and components. You will translate customer demand forecasts and Kanban signals into a reliable efficient plan that supports on-time delivery and strong job profitabilitythen procure what the shop needs to execute.

A Day in the Role

• Build and maintain the Master Production Schedule in lockstep with the Sales & Operations Plan (S&OP).
• Balance inventory levels and production commitments to hit customer service targets incorporating input from Sales.
• Adjust shop floor sequences to protect promised lead times.
• Publish the Capacity Planning Report and track Earned Hours; partner with Operations to resolve shop load bottlenecks.
• Provide accurate capability-based lead times to Sales and support short lead-time escalations with Sales and Operations Leadership.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure schedule integrity and compliance.
• Coordinate workflow across departments based on priorities orders and available resources (people parts materials equipment).

Purchasing & Material Flow

• Procure raw materials components and supplies essential to manufacturing.
• Manage Kanban-triggered replenishment to keep inventory lean and ready.
• Negotiate for competitive cost quality and delivery performance.
• Track supplier performance; address delivery quality or lead-time issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records in line with company policies and standards.
• Collaborate with Operations and Inventory teams to streamline material flow and prevent shortages or overstock.

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of scheduling experience in contract manufacturing (machining).
• Background in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (including Access) and ERP systems; Epicor and/or Autosched preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication including presentations and negotiations.
• Calm courteous teamwork under pressure.
• APICS certification preferred.
