Job Summary

Salary: 28700

Hours: 37.5 hours

Responsible to:Senior Regional Fundraiser

This year we have to raise over 80% of the 6.5 million we need to fund our vital work ourselves. Which means that our local community the people groups and organisations who support us by fundraising holding events volunteering and raising awareness are vital to enable us to care for children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.

And thats where you come in. Covering Huddersfield youll build strong and long-lasting relationships with local organisations groups schools and individuals and support them to raise money for our charity.

Managing your own time and diary youll be out and about encouraging donations getting people involved in an activity or a challenge helping a group organise their own fundraising gaining sponsorship for an event or working with volunteers to man stalls or collect shoppers spare change.

Previous fundraising experience is welcome but not essential as we can help you develop those skills. What is essential is that youre self-motivated and driven someone who will embrace the opportunity to meet new people and build positive relationships that will help us raise the funds we need and help our supporters get the most from their involvement with us.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Summary

Our vision is to deliver pioneering care through pregnancy childhood and loss wherever families need us whatever the future holds. This role supports our vision by engaging with local communities businesses organisations and groups to generate the funds needed to support the delivery of our services for our families.

We welcome flexible and hybrid-working and while this role might require weekend and evening work at times youll have the autonomy to manage your own time and activity.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Generate income from a targeted part of the region maximising all opportunities in order to grow and sustain individual corporate and group support.
  • Responsible for achieving agreed fundraising targets through the support and cultivation of both existing and new individual donors and supporters including volunteer led events community groups religious groups businesses and local organisations.
  • Develop a strong network of individual community and corporate contacts to help with the development of new relationship/fundraising opportunities.
  • Represent Forget Me Not at local events and cheque presentations utilising volunteer support where applicable.
  • Raise awareness of the work of the hospice with the aim of securing financial support.
  • Own develop and drive a specialist area of fundraising in line with the income generation strategy for growth for example schools fundraising.
  • Build and maintain links with care team colleagues in order to articulate the work of Forget Me Not to supporters and support families who may wish to fundraise.
  • Support the events fundraising plan promoting ticket sales and challenge event places.
  • Work with the corporate partnerships fundraiser to secure new business club members and move current members through the tiers encourage other corporate support/activity and secure sponsorship for our events.
  • Communicate effectively with supporters utilising the database to record activity and respond promptly to donors to thank them for their support and maintain excellent relationships
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the income generation team and nurture a culture of respect and consideration between all staff

Person specification

  • Essential

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with ability to present to a diverse range of audiences
  • Confident and personable with an ability to influence and persuade
  • Able to work under pressure managing and prioritising a busy workload
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines and targets
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate including databases
  • Full UK driving licence access to own vehicle and willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Previous fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of Fundraising Codes of Practice
  • Awareness of current trends and developments in fundraising

Essential

Education / qualifications

  • Good standard of education GCSEs minimum

Desirable

  • IoF qualification certificate or diploma
  • IoF Membership
