Job Summary
The Import/Export Agent plays a critical role in supporting 7 Air Cargos growing cargo operations by ensuring the accurate and compliant handling of import and export shipments. This position is responsible for managing shipment documentation maintaining regulatory compliance and coordinating with customs brokers ground handlers and internal operational teams. The Import/Export Agent helps improve operational efficiency reduce shipment delays and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and international trade regulations.
This is anin-house onsite position and requires availability to worksecond shift hours from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare review and process import and export documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
Coordinate shipment activities with customs brokers freight forwarders ground handling agents and internal teams
Monitor cargo movement to ensure timely clearance release and delivery of shipments
Ensure compliance with CBP TSA and international trade laws and regulations
Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies or clearance issues to prevent delays
Maintain accurate records and files in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks
Communicate shipment status updates to internal stakeholders as needed
QualificationsQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelors degree preferred
Prior experience in import/export cargo operations logistics or freight forwarding preferred
Working knowledge of CBP TSA and international trade compliance requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and coordination skills
Proficiency with cargo management systems and standard office software
Preferred Skills
Experience working in air cargo operations
Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and international shipping documentation
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and compliance
Work Environment
