    Primary Job Function

    The Uinta County School District #1 Assistant Superintendent of 6-12 will inspire lead guide and direct members of the administrative instructional and support services staff in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence with an emphasis on sixth grade through grade twelve. The Assistant Superintendent of 6-12 ensures that each student enrolled in the district receives an appropriate effective and equitable educational experience. This position provides district-level leadership in curriculum instruction personnel practices and student services while supporting the Superintendent and Board of Trustees in advancing district priorities.

    Qualifications

    • Masters Degree with an emphasis in Education
    • Administrative Endorsement
    • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication
    • Working knowledge of the High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework preferred
    • Working knowledge of Professional Learning Community (PLC) processes preferred

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Instructional Leadership

    • Provide district-level leadership for 6-12 curriculum instruction assessment and intervention.
    • Support the development and implementation of high-quality standards-based instructional practices.
    • Use student performance data to guide instructional improvement and resource allocation.
    • Support the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) early literacy initiatives and district instructional frameworks.
    • Lead and support professional learning aligned to district priorities and research-based best practices.

    Personnel Administration

    • Supervise support and evaluate secondary principals in alignment with district expectations and Board policy.
    • Collaborate with school administrators to support effective supervision evaluation and professional growth of 6-12 staff.
    • Provide leadership and collaboration with the Human Resources Department to support effective recruitment selection onboarding supervision evaluation and retention of 6-12 administrators and other staff.
    • Promote a positive collaborative and inclusive professional culture.

    Financial Management

    • Assist with budget development and monitoring related to 6-12 instructional programs staffing and professional learning.
    • Ensure responsible stewardship of district resources aligned with district priorities and instructional goals.
    • Collaborate with district leadership to align fiscal decisions with academic needs.

    Student Services

    • Support systems addressing academic behavioral and social-emotional needs of 6-12 students.
    • Ensure equitable access to services and interventions for all learners.
    • Collaborate with district and building leaders to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.

    School and Community Relations

    • Foster strong positive relationships with families staff and community stakeholders.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively regarding district initiatives expectations and outcomes.
    • Represent UCSD #1 professionally at meetings trainings and community events as assigned.

    Supporting Superintendentï½Board Responsibilities

    • Support the Superintendent in implementing Board policies and district initiatives.
    • Provide data analysis and recommendations to inform district decision-making.
    • Assist in long-range planning and continuous improvement efforts.


    Federal Programs Oversight

    • Oversee and ensure compliance with federal guidelines for applicable federal programs including but not limited to:Title II-A Title IV-A and Perkins.
    • Collaborate with district leadership and school administrators to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of federally funded programs.
    • Ensure required documentation reporting and program evaluation requirements are met.
