- More than 15 years of experience in a compliance role interacting with regulators across Latin America and supporting diverse internal stakeholders
- Experience in the practice of law as a licensed attorney in one or more Latin American countries; crossborder legal experience in financerelated sectors preferred
- Experience with regulators or in regulatory compliance across Latin America required
- Exceptional leadership and management skills
- Proven managerial expertise with a track record of building developing and retaining highperforming teams across multiple geographies
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus
- Highest ethical standards professional demeanor proactive flexible diligent and dependable
- Highly organized and efficient with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities
The VP - Senior Compliance Officer will serve as the Head of Compliance for Moodys Local (ML) and as the senior point of contact for all ML Compliance matters across 14 countries in Latin America. This role is a high visibility position that requires a candidate with extensive experience dealing with regulators and senior leaders demonstrated exceptional leadership ability excellent judgment and strong oral and written communications skills.
The VP-SCO is responsible for leading and managing a group of Compliance professionals located across Latin America that support the day-to-day execution of the following responsibilities:
- Provide compliance advice and guidance to Moodys Local businesses across Latin America
- Serve as a subject matter expert on key compliance risks including conflicts of interest information protection securities trading oversight gifts and entertainment outside business interests recordkeeping licensing and regulatory disclosures
- Act as senior point of contact for regulatory supervisory matters coordinating examinations responding to regulatory inquiries and advising internal stakeholders
- Manage a team of seven compliance officers across six countries fostering growth development innovation collaboration feedback and recognition
- Lead the Moodys Local Compliance teams execution of the Compliance Risk Assessment
- Report and escalate compliance matters to internal and external stakeholders including senior leadership
- Represent Compliance in complex crossfunctional initiatives and advise on strategic growth product development regulatory implementation and remediation
- Support implementation of policies and procedures that meet local regulatory requirements and international best practices while promoting consistency across jurisdictions
- Demonstrate strong leadership decisionmaking influencing (including without authority) and communication skills
- Operate within a global and inclusive culture
About the Team
Our Moodys Local Compliance team is responsible for ensuring adherence to local laws regulations codes of conduct policies and procedures across 14 countries in Latin America. We monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of control measures designed to maintain regulatory compliance working independently from Moodys Local and reporting into the Global Compliance Group.
