St John of God Bunbury Hospital is only two hours drive from the Perth CBD located in the beautiful South West of Western Australia. With 145 beds the hospital is considered one of the finest private hospitals in regional WA surrounded by beautiful lakeside gardens. The facility offers services in cardiac care interventional cardiology cancer treatment renal dialysis elective surgery general medicine and palliative care.

We are seeking committed Casual Allied Health Assistants to join our dedicated and supportive this role you will provide vital clinical and administrative support to physiotherapists occupational therapists and other therapy and nursing staff as required. Our Allied Health team provides a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient services.
The Position
Provide clinical assistance to the physiotherapists occupational therapists nursing and other health care professionals as required.
Actively monitor the environment and implement safe work practices to ensure patient and staff safety.
Participate in staff education programs as required and comply with hospital and department policies and procedures.
Supervise and assist patients in exercise routines gait activities and daily living activities as directed by the treating allied health care professional.
Assist with patient treatment as required.
Assist with patient transfers dressing and showering in hydrotherapy (if applicable).
Identify client circumstances that need additional input from the Allied Health Professional and communicate this in clinical handover.
Be aware of contraindications precautions and hazards relating to specific patient management.
Ensure that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to in all areas.
Ensure adequate levels of all stock items are maintained.
Provide administrative support to department staff as requested.
Provide administrative support to hospital staff as requested by Department Manager.
Candidates will ideally hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance have suitable experience in a similar role or be currently completing tertiary studies in an Allied Health discipline. You will demonstrate the ability to follow instructions policies and procedures while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with the ability to engage with patients and colleagues in a sensitive and professional manner. You will also demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality supported by welldeveloped organisational skills that enable you to manage your workload prioritise tasks and respond effectively to competing demands.

We can offer you
Salary: $43.47 to $46.92 per hour (including 25% casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
