Job Summary
- Permanent Full-Time role
- Based in Pilgangoora WA
- FIFO - 8/6 roster 12 hours shift
- Salary $81k - $85k per annum
As a Laboratory Assistant based in Pilgangoora (FIFO out of Perth) on a 8/6 roster you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and quality analysis of samples using ICP including sample preparation weighing LOI moisture fusing making solutions including standards and operating ICP equipment.
Other responsibilities include however not limited to:
- Ensure the timely and quality analysis of samples.
- Perform sample preparation to a high standard.
- Weigh samples accurately in an efficient manner.
- Maintain daily production numbers.
- Understand and follow laboratory methods and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the ICP laboratory area and associated areas.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment in the correct manner as required.
- Perform additional laboratory duties as required.
- At all times comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
Qualifications :
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (preferred).
- Previous experience working within a laboratory environment.
- Previous experience in sample preparation.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge in moisture LOI and fusing techniques.
- WA C Class Drivers Licence (manual preferred)
- Understanding of OH&S principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under general to limited supervision.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Good grasp of numbering and ordering.
- Ability to retain information.
- Customer Service orientation.
