Job Summary
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily material flow inventory accuracy and production readiness within the facility. This role ensures materials are ordered received stored and issued to production in alignment with operational schedules and customer demand. The position partners closely with production planning procurement and logistics teams to prevent shortages delays and inventory discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate incoming and outgoing materials to support production and customer shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through system transactions cycle counts and audits.
- Monitor material shortages and work with planning and procurement to expedite orders.
- Issue materials to production based on schedules work orders and demand signals.
- Track and manage material movement reminders Kanban and replenishment processes.
- Ensure proper storage labeling and organization of materials in warehouse and production areas.
- Support receiving activities including verification documentation and system entry.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and root causes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve material flow inventory control and efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with safety quality and company procedures.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain and material handling.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 13 years of experience in materials coordination warehouse supply chain or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle SAP etc.).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Logistics or related field.
- Experience supporting production scheduling or planning.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
- Experience with inventory control processes cycle counting and audits.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to address material shortages and delays.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- May require standing walking lifting and moving materials up to weight requirement.
- Use of material handling equipment as needed.
