Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies Aerojet Rocketdyne segment is a world-recognized leader in propulsion systems for space missile defense strategic missiles and tactical systems. We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead Quality at our Mason OH facility. This role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of quality reliability and mission success in our aerospace and defense programs.

The Senior Manager of Quality will be responsible for leading all aspects of Quality Assurance throughout the product development lifecycle for L3Harris Mason Sensors Division. This position will have responsibility for direct supervision and leadership of 40 quality personnel. The Senior Manager will be responsible for driving continual process and product improvement ensuring product and process integrity leading to customer satisfaction and overall mission success while supporting division quality delivery and cost targets. This position will collaborate frequently with Program leadership Engineering Manufacturing and Supply Chain personnel. This is a hands-on highly involved leadership position.

This position offers the chance to define and execute quality strategy for a rapidly growing high-priority site within L3 Harris newly formed Advanced Effects sector.

Essential Functions:

• Responsiblefor the Quality Engineering and Inspection functions supporting all business practices includingquality planning compliance monitoring and validation for programs hardware and inspection.
• Responsibility for resolving technical challenges ensuring successful tactical execution as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Quality department.
• Developand implement strategic Quality initiatives and programs in support of the Advanced Effects sector promoting sound and effective principles as set forth in company procedures government standards anddirectives and commercially proven methodology and ensure that the department conforms to these principles.
• Promote a strong culture of quality focused on every employee engaged and enhancing the customer experience through rigorous attention to detail and prevention of defects.
• Work closely with the program teams and the functional organizations to ensure that all phases of the product life cycle from early customerinvolvement through post-delivery support meet the requirements for mission success.
• Ensurethat manufacturing engineering operations and design engineering interactsufficiently throughout the product planning and design phases to ensure aseamless hand-off during product transition to production including design reviews and facilitating quality concurrent Engineering.
• Responsiblefor the maintenance of quality records that document the quality status ofmaterial/products and provide necessary information and cumulative data for internal and external Customer responses.
• Develop reviewand verify compliance of all Work Package Descriptions issued for Quality tasks for proposals and ongoing contracts/projects.
• Improvethe efficiency of the Quality organization through effective leadershipindividual and group training and process improvement.
• Collect and analyzekey quality measures such as Cost of Poor Quality and Defects per Unit to develop zero defect plans improve yields and reduce rework duringengineering and manufacturing efforts. Report to senior leadership on business performance including action plans to improve business execution and status of strategic initiatives.
• Maintaincertification and compliance efforts for AS9100 ISO17025 and other required certifications.
• Champion continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma) to enhance first-time yield reduce defects and lower cost of poor quality across programs.
  
  

Qualifications:

• - Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Management or a related technical discipline (Masters degree preferred).
• 12 years of progressive experience in quality assurance/engineering or related roles within the aerospace defense or high-reliability manufacturing industries. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
• 3 years of direct leadership experience managing quality teams in complex multi-site or matrixed organizations supporting defense or aerospace programs.
• Demonstrated expertise (2 years) in implementing and maintaining AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems including GD&T SPC APQP/PPAP and advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D Fishbone Pareto).
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience building developing and motivating high-performing teams in dynamic fast-paced settings.
• Excellent communication collaboration and stakeholder influence skills at all levels including executive leadership cross-functional teams suppliers and customers.
• U.S. citizenship and current ability (or eligibility) to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) security clearance.

Preferred:
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Six Sigma Black Belt or Program Management Professional (PMP)
- Prior involvement with DoD missile/launched effects programs high-volume production ramps or similar high-reliability environments.
- Background with L3Harris legacy Aerojet Rocketdyne or comparable defense contractors.
