TEACHER TRAVELING ARTS INTEGRATION
(2026 - 2027 School Year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- California multiple subject or single subject credential in music dance theatre or art to teach in public schools
- Bachelors degree with arts major or minor desirable
- Ability to teach foundational level learning of music dance theater and art at the primary level
- Ability to motivate children to perform skills through music dance theater and art
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or days
REPORTS TO: Administrator as assigned
JOB GOAL: To develop appreciation of all arts disciplines through arts integration as part of general culture; to teach techniques of expression through all arts disciplines; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of music dance theater and art; to meet goalsestablished in the Districts Course of Study as related to the arts integration program in relationship to specific needs of all students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans instructional objectives for assigned grade level or subject area consistent with Course of Study and Curriculum Guide which meet Districts and schools educational goals; objectives established by October 15 of each year in cooperation with Visual and Performing Arts administrator site principal and other staff members
- Works with district administrators and teachers to plan and prepare arts integrated lessons assignments assessments and instructional materials
- Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to maturity and interest of students; participates with staff in establishing and maintaining effective learning climate within school; develops reasonable and specific rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in classroom in fair and just manner
- Creates an arts integrated school environment that provides for student involvement in learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives
- Analyzes learning capacity of students and provides for their needs; plans balanced Arts Integrated Program and organized class time so that preparation rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within allotted time
- Guides learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear performance objectives as listed in Course of Study for Arts Integration Program for all lessons projects and to communicate these objectives to students
- Instructs students in citizenship specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of school district
- Makes referral to principal on students who demonstrate severe unsocial behavior patterns
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly productive environment during practice group rehearsals classes and performances
- Plans and administers art programs for school productions parent-teacher groups civic functions and performances and exhibitions including after school evening and weekend performances and exhibitions
- Maintains weekly records and evaluates each students growth and performance assessing each individuals contribution to performance of group; confers with colleagues students and parents regarding student progress as needed
- Builds positive relationship with staff and parents through back-to-school events open house classroom visitations conferences written communication work samples and demonstrations
- Plans rehearses and directs students in programs for school and community; applies knowledge of District procedures and limitations set on performance
- Provides individual and small group instruction to adapt curriculum to needs of each student
- Controls storage and use of school-owned property and materials
- Selects and requisitions materials including but not limited to: books sheet music musical instruments and instructional aids and supplies for the Arts Integration Program; maintains required inventory records
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health attitude and learning problems; makes referrals as required
- Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law District policy and administrative regulations including lesson schedule attendance reports Reports to Parents and annual report
- Assists upholding and enforcing school rules administrative regulations and Board policy
- Supervises students outside of classrooms such as assemblies and extra-curricular activities and fire and other emergency drills
- Attends and participates in staff meetings in-service meetings curriculum development and materials evaluation
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by District and/or self-selected growth activities related to arts integration
- Participates in and delivers professional development aligned with an Arts Integration Program focus. Designs and delivers classroom instruction aligned with and based on the Arts Integration Program pedagogical philosophies
- Participates cooperatively with Visual and Performing Arts administrator and site principal to develop method to be evaluated in conformance with District guidelines
- Models personal and professional values of equity integrity caring collaboration and personal and collective accountability
- Performs other related duties as assigned
SALARY: $59232- $122012annually (182 day. Max salary includes education stipend)
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Districts Improvement of Professional Services handbook Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operators license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
