Canadian Blood Services is looking for aRegularFull-TimeQuality Assurance Manager Testing Servicesto join our dynamic Quality Assurance MedicalServicesand Innovationteamworkingout ofCBSs Calgaryor Bramptonsite.The work oftheQuality Assurance Manager is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canadas Lifeline.

ThispositionensuresthesafetyandqualityofTesting Services atCanadian BloodServices.You willhaveathorough understandingofpatient and donor testingprocesses and systemsand associated regulations standardsand best practices including thetheory and application of qualitymanagementsystem elements tothe products and services provided bytheCanadian Blood Servicesdonortesting and diagnostic services teams.

UndertheleadershipoftheAssociate DirectorQA Medical Services and Innovationyouwillberesponsible forthemanagement execution andevaluationof established quality assurance activities ensuringeffective andefficient people andprocess management inan environment which fully recognizes the benefits of operatinginaccordance with quality principles.

You willleadthe development of your team by understanding the collaborative effort required within a team environment andoptimizingthe team tobesuccessful inmeetingor exceedingallquality assuranceobjectives. Youwilluseperformance-basedmeasurements toaligntheobjectivesoftheteamtomeet thestrategicobjectivesof the Quality &Regulatory Affairs division andCanadian BloodServices.

You willalsobe responsible forpartneringand collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensurethequalitymanagement systemprogramproceduresandtoolsmeetuserbusinessneedsandregulatoryrequirements.

  • Channeling your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will manage the Quality Assurance Testing Services team and budget to ensure effective and efficient use of resources in a positive working environment in which the team will feel empowered challenged and engaged.

  • Drawingonyour quality assurance experience you willmonitorand trendprocessperformance andproduct qualitydatatoensure astateofcontrolandcompliance to requirements/specificationsassociatedwiththe delivery of CBS products and services.

  • Leveragingyourexpertisein continuous improvement you will drive or contribute toinitiativesthatimproveprocesses andservices -fromdevelopment and implementation to ongoing monitoring andoptimization.

  • You will cultivateandmaintainstrongintegratedworkingrelationships withall CBS teams includingMedical Affairs and Innovationcolleaguesto support seamless day-to-day operationsand advance strategic objectives.

Desired Education and skills

  • Post-secondary level science-based education such as a bachelors degree in a related discipline from a recognized academic institution or equivalent professional education and experience

  • A minimum ofthreeyearsof progressive experience inapharmaceutical medical device or biological manufacturingenvironmentfollowing Good Manufacturing Practicesorin-depth knowledge of a comparable quality management system

  • A minimum of 3 years experience inaquality assurance functionwithin atesting or diagnostics program/organizationfollowing Good Manufacturing Practices

  • 1-3years of progressive managementexperience

  • Certification or formalized education in Quality Management Systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System elements

  • Ability to work with a team of high-performingprofessionals

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solvingand decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated sound organizational and management skills

  • Proven effective interpersonal facilitation presentation written and verbal communications skills

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office and othercommon businesssoftware packages

  • Familiarity with electronic budget preparation and monitoring

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location with minimum 60-80% of the time on site at either CBSs Brampton or Calgary production site

  • Travel requirements semi-regular to other CBS sites

  • On-call evening and weekend support may be required
