Therapeutic Counselor (2026-2027)

RUTLAND CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLSVACANCY - Therapeutic Counselor Allen Street Campus & Pier Point Personalized Learning CenterRutland City Public Schools is seeking a skilled compassionate and highly organized Therapeutic School Counselor to join our specialized therapeutic programs at Allen Street Campus and Pier Point Personalized Learning Center. This position serves students with social emotional and behavioral needs and requires a strong commitment to trauma-informed student- and family-centered successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling crisis intervention and family support while collaborating closely with educators clinicians administrators and outside agencies. The counselor will play a key role in helping students develop emotional regulation problem-solving skills healthy communication and positive relationships within a therapeutic educational Qualifications and Responsibilities include:Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed practices crisis intervention and diverse learning stylesAbility to apply counseling theories and evidence-based techniques to individuals small groups and familiesStrong collaboration skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamExperience supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges in an educational settingCommitment to building strong partnerships with families and supporting student success across settingsRequired Qualifications:Masters Degree in School Counseling or a related fieldCurrent Vermont Agency of Education licensure (or eligibility)Strong background working within schools or therapeutic educational programsPosition Compensation: Salary range is $47252 to $92401 (based on the 26-27 salary schedule) commensurate with experience and qualifications.
