Job Summary

Title: Nuclear Medicine Technician

Position Summary / Purpose

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Nuclear Medicine laboratory ensuring safe accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role includes patient education equipment operation and performance of nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with established policies procedures regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Nuclear Medicine laboratory equipment and perform required quality control testing.

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols and regulatory standards.

  • Educate patients and families regarding nuclear medicine procedures and address questions or concerns.

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in compliance with departmental policies and best practices.

  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to radiation safety guidelines.

  • Maintain equipment functionality and report issues as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Comply with union guidelines and institutional policies.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Education

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field

Preferred:

  • Bachelors Degree

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)

  • Post-secondary certification in Computed Tomography (CT)

  • Radiologic Technologist License issued by the New York State Department of Health

  • BCLS certification

Note: ARRT-R certification is not required.

Schedule & Location

  • Location: New York NY (10029)

  • Hours per Week: 37.5

  • Shift Options:

    • 7:00 AM 3:00 PM (MondayFriday) or

    • 7:30 AM 3:30 PM (MondayFriday)

  • Contract Length: 60 days

  • Union Role
