Location: North Bergen NJ 07047
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday Friday (Flexible Day Shift)
Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $50 $58 per hour
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1875 $2175 (based on 40 hours)
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with Breast Imaging experience to join a specialized Breast Center in North Bergen NJ. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in breast ultrasound procedures while delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex breast ultrasound examinations in accordance with established imaging protocols.
Utilize appropriate transducers and scanning techniques for various breast conditions (dense tissue implants masses etc.).
Apply Doppler imaging as indicated to assess vascularity.
Assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided breast biopsies aspirations and other interventional procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
Review and ensure diagnostic image quality prior to submission for interpretation.
Perform portable ultrasound examinations as needed.
Patient Care Responsibilities
Prepare educate and properly position patients for imaging procedures.
Provide compassionate patient-centered care ensuring comfort and safety.
Adapt care delivery to meet individual patient needs including age-specific and cultural considerations.
Follow infection control safety and emergency response protocols.
Technical & Administrative Responsibilities
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and related systems.
Optimize imaging parameters (gain depth focus TGC) for diagnostic accuracy.
Identify and minimize imaging artifacts.
Utilize PACS EPIC and electronic documentation systems for accurate image archiving and reporting.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation in compliance with facility standards.
Participate in quality control and equipment performance monitoring.
Maintain inventory stock supplies and ensure a clean organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
Minimum 2 years of Allied Health/College training
ARDMS certification (RDMS required)
Current CPR certification
Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience
Breast ultrasound experience required
Strong knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology
Experience with PACS and hospital-based electronic documentation systems
Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. push/pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a dedicated Breast Center
Experience assisting with ultrasound-guided breast interventional procedures
Knowledge of quality assurance and performance improvement processes
