Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an Administrative Specialist. The Driver Training Administrative Specialist provides direct administrative operational and program support to the Deputy Director of the Driver Training Division. This position plays a key role in supporting agency programs related to driver training regulatory oversight compliance activities policy implementation leadership communications and associated audits and reviews. The incumbent performs a variety of complex administrative duties requiring discretion independent judgment and knowledge of state agency procedures.
The Driver Training Division is responsible for the oversight and regulation of driver training schools driver improvement programs and commercial driver licensing (CDL) programs to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and promote safe driving practices across the Commonwealth.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience providing comprehensive administrative support to senior leadership including managing calendars scheduling meetings coordinating appointments and tracking multiple assignments and deadlines
Administrative experience to include preparing formatting proofreading and distributing professional correspondence memoranda reports and presentations with accuracy and attention to grammatical formatting and content standards
Experience coordinating logistics for meetings events trainings and site visits including preparing agendas and materials arranging facilities and managing participant coordination
Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) to create documents manage spreadsheets prepare presentations and coordinate communications
Ability to compile information data and documentation from multiple sources into organized formats for leadership review and decision-making
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information in accordance with established confidentiality requirements
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with individuals at all organizational levels including leadership staff external stakeholders and the public
Additional Considerations
Experience working in a Virginia state agency or other government environment
Experience supporting regulatory compliance or audit-related functions
Familiarity with DMV operations driver training programs or commercial driver licensing (CDL) programs
