Job Responsibilities
Classify inmates in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Participate in an institutional orientation program and the initial assignment process of inmates.
Interpret South Carolina statutes pertaining to inmate sentences and computation of time.
Advise inmates on release and eligibility dates and sentence Information.
Receive and review inmates requests for custody changes job and program assignments.
Prepare case reports and update automated reports for periodic review of inmates progress by a classification committee.
Make recommendations to the classification committee for assignment and classification of inmates.
Review proposed modifications to inmates classification plans and recommend necessary action.
Assign inmates to available employment/educational/treatment program.
Assist in the evacuation of inmates with special treatment needs.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and related experience. A bachelors degree may be substituted for the required related experience.
