Haymarket Media Inc. is seekinganEditorial Internto join theMcKnights Long-Term Care NewsMcKnights Senior LivingandMcKnights Home Careteams. This internship is based out of ourNorthbrook ILoffice but consideration will be given to remote workers.
Job Overview:
The summer intern will perform a variety of reporting writing and editing tasks for news for the companysMcKnights Long-Term Care NewsMcKnights Senior LivingandMcKnights Home Carebrands.McKnights LTC Newshas a bimonthly print edition and daily and weekly e-newsletters reflecting what skilled nursing providers need to know.McKnights Senior Livinghas a quarterly print edition and a daily e-newsletter focused on assisted living providers.McKnights Home Careproduces a daily newsletter. The intern will be asked to learn about policy issues and at various times write features as well as news on tight deadlines.
Ideal candidates must be able to craft copy that is concise clear interesting and above all accurate. They also must have copy editing content management system and social media experience.
This nine-week summer internship program will run from June 15 2026 to August 14 2026 (9 weeks).This is a paid full-time internship and is not for college credit.
Responsibilities include:
Basic website management and social media updates
Work on custom print and digital content
Writing and editing feature articles for print and online edition
Daily news writing
Skills and Requirements:
Must be enrolled or have recently graduated from an undergraduate program at a college/university
Interest in elder care including assisted living and memory care and ability to write clinical product policy and crime stories
Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
Ability to write short targeted articles homing in on subjects importance to readers
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
WordPress experience a plus
Must provide own housing and transportation to and from work or ability to work remotely (as applicable)

What We Offer:
- Location: Office amenities and in-person interaction with staff colleagues (in Northbrook IL) or remote work
- Salary: $17.00/hr.
- Start Date/ Duration: June 15 2026 to August 14 2026 (9 weeks)
- Schedule: 32 hours a week; hybrid onsite schedule; Summer Fridays
